Laboratory of Clonal Evolution and Molecular Epigenetics of Cancer

We are dedicated to uncovering the fundamental biological mechanisms that drive hematological cancer onset, therapy resistance, and progression.

Our research focuses on two key challenges: clonal evolution, the changes of frequency of genetically distinct malignant cells, and epigenetic plasticity, which enables cancer cells to adapt to therapy. Both are major barriers to developing effective treatments for preventing cancer progression and overcoming therapy resistance.

By developing and applying innovative single-cell sequencing technologies, we aim to measure clonal evolution and epigenetic plasticity directly in patient samples. This approach enhances the translational potential of our findings, aiming to ultimately contributing to the development of novel or combination therapies with the goal of improving outcomes for cancer patients.
